43. ligure Hebrew: leshem, dedicated to God. Exodus 28:19, 39:12. Probable identification: biblical ligure is amber. See "AMBER." The Septuagint set the precedent for translating leshem as "ligure" or amber from Liguria, and presumably the translators based their identification on the traditional lore of their time. Without this precedent, we have no basis for any other identification, especially jacinth (amber-colored zircon).
